Before I came here I found a link online about China Lights Rotterdam. Its an art installation, of sorts, that was set up in a park here. Lots of lights and figures..some had Chinese stories with them. It's just a walk-through kind of thing and I didn't think I'd get to see it. The last day was the 14th and to my knowledge, we hadn't planned to go.
We rode the subway to get on a tram and the tram took us near the Euromast. an observation tower measuring 606 ft to the top of the spire..but the observation deck is 315ft above ground and we have plans to go up in the high-speed elevator. We were going to do it that night but when we got there it was closed due to the weather.
The 12th and 13th were nice, but the 14th decided to surprise us with snow all day and some ice and wind.
Anyway, we arrived at China Lights Rotterdam...
The display below was made of pottery. The bowls, cups and plates you might find at a Chinese restaurant...really beautiful up close.
This display below depicted a Chinese wedding. At some point in the set-up it had a chair that went around and through the display. That was closed, sadly enough.
The Euromast in the background.
The dragon sprawed water from his mouth and caused ice to form on the mouth to look like giant icy teeth...Lars and I loved that little detail.
Princess cottage for Lyllian :)
Dinosaurs for Isaac :)
It was really beautiful to walk around on a crisp night, arm-in-arm with my husband. He was so sweet for planning this :) I love you Lars :).
